Word of the Foodbank is now really spreading and we have had enquiries and pleas for help from all over the region we aim to cover. Please help us keep this up:
if you are involved with any agency which serves people in need, make sure you have a supply of vouchers which you can issue
if you are involved with a church, school or voluntary group which would like to contribute food, regularly or on special occasions, then do contact us.
if you want to encourage your friends or work colleagues to get involved by collecting food, then let us know - we will be pleased to send a speaker to tell you more about what we do.
Our scheme for collecting Foodbank Nectar points is proving both attractive to supporters and VERY helpful for us. We use the points collected to "top-up" stocks of essential items when supplies are running low, buy extras such as washing powder, and pay for diesel when the van needed feeding. See Getting Involved if you would like to know more about our Nectar Card.
Our little green van took retirement in 2016
Our little green van has been a wonderful help with all the collecting and moving of goods we have to do (and thanks again to Joyce and Joe for their generosity in providing it). But it was little and we were struggling to get everything in (and out) as you can see from our old Harvest photos.
So we decided to replace it with a big white van, using money kindly donated for infrastructure purposes rather than for food. It really is making moving stuff about much easier.
Thanks to every body who supported us in the Christmas season - with donations of food and money - and with help sorting all the goods.
