North Oxfordshire Community Foodbank

Oxford Food Bank

We are always very grateful when we see the van from the Oxford Food Bank pull into the car park at Kidlington Baptist Church on a Friday morning. We don't know what it will be carrying, but we do know that it will be bringing welcome items for our guests. Often it includes fresh food, such as eggs, fruit and vegetables, which make a fantastic addition to the "store" items we always supply.

The Oxford Food Bank is a registered charity with the joint aims of reducing food waste in the Oxford area and reducing food poverty within the local community. It collects good quality fresh food from local supermarkets and wholesalers and delivers it for free to over 80 registered charities in the Oxford area - including us. They do not give out food directly to individuals as we do.

You can find out more about them by visiting oxfordfoodbank.org

They are also offering Open House for lunch on Christmas Day, from 12.30pm to 4.00pm, at the Kings Centre, Osney Mead, OX2 0ES.

There will be plenty of food, fun and entertainment for everyone - entirely free. Guests will also be given a box of food to take away - perhaps lasting up to the New Year.

For more information email Christmas@oxfordfoodbank.org, see their website, or look on Facebook.
