Who We Are

There are many participating churches around our area – from all those in Kidlington, to Chipping Norton, Woodstock and further afield.  We also have many schools, local organisations and individuals who contribute regularly. Also a number of shops have collecting boxes in which people can drop a contribution when they’ve done their shopping.

We work closely with other agencies supporting those in need, making sure that all goods which are donated get to the people who can benefit from them.  One particular partnership is with the Oxford Food Bank, which regularly supplies us with perishable items such as eggs and vegetables.  To find out more about them, just look here.

We are a not-for-profit voluntary organisation, recognised as a charity for tax purposes – HMRC Charities Reference Number EW59379. You can see our Constitution here.

Membership of the Foodbank is open to any individual or organisation interested in supporting its purposes/aims.  Anyone wishing to become a member can download a Membership Application Form and send it to the Secretary so it can be passed to the Executive Committee for consideration.

The Executive Committee is elected by the members at the Annual General Meeting. It currently consists of

  • Joyce Rice (Chair)
  • Carole Wilton (Treasurer)
  • Mick Wilton
  • Margaret Day
  • Melvina Fawcett
  • Andy Mills
  • Sue Pimm
  • Steph Risi

We were proud to be recognised for our work in the community at the Cherwell ‘Love Where You Live’ Volunteer Awards, organised by Sanctuary and Cherwell District Council. Melvina collected the award as Lifetime Volunteer 2021 runner up at a ceremony in the garden of Bodicote House offices.

Winners were presented with heart-shaped wooden trophies, handcrafted by mental health charity Restore.
